Dayton
Tucked away in a lush
valley east of Carson City, Dayton is a gem of high desert bliss.
Founded in 1849 by pioneers, Dayton was originally a temporary encampment
for miners waiting to cross the Sierra Nevada Mountains headed for
the California Gold Rush. While laid over in Dayton, frontiersman
Abner Blackburn began to dig for gold with a bread pan and butcher
knife and behold Nevada's first gold was discovered.
Today, Dayton is fast
becoming a sought after destination to live due to its quaint surroundings
and small town charm. Engulfed by the Pine Nut Mountains and graced
by the Carson River flowing through town. Dayton offers a long list
of outdoor recreation.
Within
a 45 minute drive, residents will find a variety of world-class
ski resorts to choose from at Lake Tahoe. Apline skiing, cross-country
skiing and snowboarding are just a few of the favorite winter activities
one could enjoy.
With
a population of up to 6,000 people, Dayton is a breath of fresh
air from the big city life where bits and pieces of the Wild West
still linger. Dayton has an amazing history and a wonderful future
ahead. It's no wonder Dayton is one of the fastest gowning communities
in Nevada.

Lake
Tahoe
Lake Tahoe, the largest
alpine lake in North America, is one of the finest year-round natural
attractions in the world. With its crystal clear waters, surrounding
mountain forests and easy access, Lake Tahoe has been a destination
in of itself for over a century.
In the winter, Tahoe is internationally famous for its skiing. The
snow pack averages 240 inches, and the annual snowfall is over 480
inches providing more than 5 months of skiing and snow boarding.
In the spring, the snow melts away, the forests take leaf, and Lake
Tahoe becomes the perfect outdoor location for sailing, windsurfing
or finding a secluded beach.
